Course Policies*
The following course policies will be in effect throughout the quarter:
Open Access Policy: I encourage individuals to email me ([email protected]) with questions, comments, or concerns, and I will respond to messages within 24 hours of their receipt. Item requiring immediate attention should include the word “URGENT” (all caps) in the subject line of the email, and I will respond to that message as soon as possible.
Online Access Issues: Should you have problems accessing online materials, contact me via email ([email protected]) as soon as possible to make me aware of this situation, and we will work on a plan to address the situation.
Dates for Submitting Assignments: All formal assignments are on the related day noted in this course syllabus. Assignments submitted after the due date and time will receive a grade of “F”/0 points for that assignment.
Access to Resources: Some links on the course Moodle site will connect you to resources outside of the Louisiana Tech University community. These resources have been selected for their educational value, and their use does not imply endorsement of any products, services, or opinions found in these resources. Further, neither Louisiana Tech University nor the course instructor assumes any responsibility for either the content or the accessibility of these resources.
Academic Integrity: Students should comply with the Louisiana Tech University’s Academic Honor Code: https://www.latech.edu/current-students/student-advancement-affairs/student-conduct-integrity/ Any student suspected of academic misconduct will receive—at minimum—an “F/0 points” on the assignment and might also suffer more serious consequences, such as failure of the course and/or dismissal from the University.
Project Resubmission: You may not re-submit graded projects in order to improve your original grade on an assignment. You should, however, feel free to talk with me about your project while you are preparing it.
Professionalism: Members of this class are expected to treat one another with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Repeated unprofessional, rude, or inappropriate behavior can result in 10-100 points being deducted from a student’s final grade for the course per instance of such behavior.
Acceptable Submission Format: All formal papers submitted for grading in this class must conform to the formatting and style guidelines noted in the materials the instructor provides for a specific assignment.
Emergency Notification System (ENS): All Louisiana Tech students are strongly encouraged to enroll and update their contact information in the Emergency Notification System to alerts in the event of a campus emergency (See https://www.latech.edu/current-students/student-advancement-affairs/university-police/emergency-notification-system/)
Americans with Disabilities Act: Any student who needs classroom accommodations under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines should register with the LA Tech Office of Testing and Disability Services (https://www.latech.edu/current-students/student-advancement-affairs/disability-services/) as soon as possible and request that the appropriate documentation be sent to me the first week of the quarter if possible.
